here's the story...

- Erin Allen, Owner -
Book shopping can be a fun weekend activity, a casual hobby, or a (sometimes) money-making side hustle. For me, it’s all of these and a life-long treasure hunt.
My name is Erin Allen, and I’m the vendor behind Kimbrough Booksellers. My roots in North Carolina go way back—my great-grandparents (the Kimbroughs) were Caswell County tobacco farmers—and now that Waxhaw is home, I'm loving using my free time to scavenge for used books to bring back to the Waxhaw community.
I've always loved reading, but I also love books and spending hours browsing bookshops. There's something about finding a beautiful book you didn’t know you needed in an out-of-the-way corner of the book world. It’s the thrill of the search. You never know what you’ll find! My hope for Kimbrough Booksellers is that it would grow into a space where local book lovers can regularly treasure-hunt for themselves.
Kimbrough Booksellers is a labor of love made possible by the support of Union County Entrepreneurs in the Mule Barn Mercantile; my massively supportive husband with his finance and handyman skills, trailer, and brute strength; and bookish family and friends who listen, brainstorm, suggest, and tag along to massive book sales.
